We Can Help Your Children Be Healthy in Our Kids Dental Office

Dental OfficeWhen was the last time you brought your child to a kid’s dental office? If it is been over six months, now is an excellent time to schedule another appointment. This is because no matter how dedicated children are to brushing their teeth, it is unlikely that they are going to do a good enough job to truly remove all of the plaque and tartar from on and around their teeth. After all, most children are not able to brush carefully enough to do so. Unfortunately, this leftover plaque and tartar can lead to tooth decay so the only way to deal with that is to schedule an appointment with our office.

The good news is that we make it easy to schedule these appointments. Simply call our office and we will find a time that is convenient and works with their school schedule. We also make it fun to visit our office and are quick to develop relationships with children that make them want to come back on a regular basis.

Time for encouragement

In our kid’s dental office, we take the time to be very encouraging of our young patients. We know how hard they try to brush and floss at home. We hope to reward our patients by giving them a goodie bag after cleanings that contain simple things like stickers and a new toothbrush. While small, our young patients look forward to receiving a new toothbrush and it is a great pride to bring the goodie bag home.

Parents can also encourage their children and reward healthy behaviors on a daily basis. We recommend creating a chart for things like oral hygiene, chores, and good behavior. Place a sticker on the chart each time they brush and floss without being told and once it fills up, reward them with something fun like a new coloring book.

Services we offer

In our kids dental office, we focus a lot on preventative care. We help children to learn how to maintain good oral hygiene at home and answer questions so that parents and children can be informed. Then, while here, we thoroughly clean our patients’ teeth to remove plaque and tartar and floss in between them. These are important services, but that is not all that we offer. We also help children by using treatment solutions such as:

  • Dental sealant
  • Dental bonding
  • Dental crowns
  • Root canals
  • Extractions
  • Fluoride treatments

We help children who have teeth that are infected, suffering from decay or damage. The goal is to restore the health and functionality of the teeth that they are having problems with. We want our young patients to be able to chew without discomfort, smile with confidence and be proud to show off their smiles.

This means that we use tooth-colored materials whenever possible. For example, by placing a tooth-colored crown, it is possible for us to save the tooth that would have needed to be extracted and do so in a way that looks completely natural. This is how we know we are successful. When we restore a child’s tooth both functionally and aesthetically, we have done an excellent job. Still, it is preferable to prevent oral health problems whenever possible, and we do so by using preventative measures.
